Obituary: Alhaj Hizam Fayed Al-Shameeri (1925-2020)

We are from Allah and to Him is our return.

With deepest of sadness we mourn today the passing of Alhaj Hizam Fayed Al-Shameeri, one of the founders of the Amanah Arabic Schools and the most beloved pillars of our community. A’mana {our Uncle) Hizam, as he was commonly known, touched the lives of many people who came to the Muath Trust: students, staff, teachers and parents. We could never forget his infectious smile and his perfume that he would always wear.

A’mana Hizam was associated with the Arabic School since the early 1980s. He then participated in the establishment of the Yemeni Educational Institute in 1983 and went on to be an Advisor and Supervisor of the Amanah Arabic Schools. He continued to work with School until 4 years ago when he had to stop due to health reasons. However he would continue to visit and bring along with him traditional coffee and snacks in order to spend time with the teachers and staff.

We pray that Allah Almighty forgive A’mana Hizam his shortcomings and grant him the highest place in Jannah.
