Nursery
The Day Nursery registered in 2000, provides a holistic nurturing caring environment and delivers a moral and spiritual education guided by Islamic ethos. It is open to all sections of the local community and has the capacity to enrol around 57 children aged 9 months to 5 years. The nursery is well-resourced and the children have access to an enclosed outdoor play area. It employs dedicated qualified staff who are trained in safeguarding and child protection and is open each weekday from 8am until 6pm all year round except for bank holidays.
The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage which ensures a broad balanced education for the children. The Nursery received a judgement of ‘Outstanding’ in all areas at the last Ofsted inspection in 2022.
Baby Room
At Amanah our baby unit caters for children that are 9 months- 2 years.
The unit is a large room that caters for 6 children, the ratio is 1 staff to 3 children. Open space and soft flooring for children who are crawling. Qualified staff who have training and experience working with babies.
Toddler Unit
At Amanah our toddlers unit caters for children that are 2 years to 3 years. The unit is large room that has been set out in areas to cover the early year’s foundation stage of learning.
The unit is brightly lit and safe, warm and friendly, which offers stimulating activities that follow and help develop a child’s learning. We offer activities that will challenge the children and their development. The unit consists of a home corner for role play. A construction and small world area, computer area and sand and water trays. We offer mark making areas where children can express their early writing skills and we offer expressive arts and crafts. All children are observed and their development is monitored and documented in a learning journey. A daily diary sheet is given to parents about their child’s day. The ratio of staff to children in this room is 1 adult to 4 children. The unit caters for 10 children. All staff are qualified and have experience as well as a DBS check.
Preschool Unit
At Amanah our preschool unit caters for children from the age of 3 years to 5 years. The unit is split into two and is open planned. The two areas are divided into the foundation areas of learning. The unit is spacious and allows the children to explore and learn. The unit offers a Kidsmart computer area. This area encourages children with early ICT skills. We also have a construction, expressive arts, sand, water, small world, mark making, home corner, puppet story, mathematics and a speech and language area, all of which encourage all children’s learning.
The children’s learning is expressed through the daily planning. The children are observed and observations are put into the children’s learning journals.
The children in preschool have their own children’s committee where their voices and opinions are listened to and acted upon.
Outdoor area
At Amanah we have a lovely spacious outdoor area where children can explore and be challenged. Our outdoor area consists of 3 areas. The first area has a covered walk way and outdoor sand pit. It also has a climbing area with a slide. This area is used for the children to ride their bikes.
The second area has a magnificent tree, a lovely climbing activity bridge/slide and exploring areas.
The third part of our gardens has a lovely garden area with a trickling water feature, large musical instruments and a wooden stage with seating area for the children to use in role play.
We are always developing our garden to make it a real WOW factor for the children.
