About Us

The Muath Trust is one of the largest community led third sector
initiatives in the United Kingdom.

The Muath Trust plays a pivotal role in helping the community

1990

The Muath Trust was established in 1990 and is one of the largest community led third sector initiatives in the United Kingdom. Founded by members of the Yemeni community, the oldest Muslim community to settle in Birmingham, The Muath Trust aims to serve and support the community, whilst endeavouring to work and partner with authorities and local organisations. We will promote and facilitate contributions of the community to the social and economic welfare of our wider society.

Since its inception, the Muath Trust has strived to offer high quality education and training and provided essential services that cater to the needs of different sections of the community.

2005

Popularly known as the ‘Amanah’, The Trust is based in the Bordesely Centre, a Grade II listed building, which after undergoing a major refurbishment in 2005, offers a modern, spacious and well-resourced facility.

The Centre hosts a range of activities including a Children’s Centre, a Day Nursery, Supplementary Arabic Schools, Adult Education and Vocational Training Centre, youth activities, care for the elderly and an excellent venue for conferences and weddings.

2006

In addition, the Muath Trust established the Amanah Masjid in a nearby location in 2006, it has since become one of the largest and most active mosques in the city of Birmingham.

The Muath Trust is committed to deliver its programmes by entering into strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and other specialist institutions. Over the last 20 years, the Trust has entered into long standing relationships with the Birmingham City Council, Government Office West Midlands, the Home Office, University of Birmingham, Children’s Fund, Learning & Skills Council and Longulf UK to name a few.
