Introduction
The Aims of this course
The intensive Arabic is a course which is designed to teach learners the Arabic language to a basic level within one year. Provided that the learners do their part this course is guaranteed to enable them to be at a level where they can independently speak, read and understand Arabic to a basic level.
The course is a one year intensive course and will be true to the meaning ‘intensive’.  This course will move at a very fast pace and for learners to be successful and achieve the pre-set targets they must be committed and dedicated to the course. Some parts of this course will require learners to memorize parts of grammar, but in general the course will require a lot of reading the book, learning and practise.  
The course is designed in such a way that it links the Arabic language with grammar in a manner that complicated grammatical issues are rendered simple and elucidated beautiful with examples.

Objective of this course
This course is designed in such a way that it will create an excellent foundation for learners to move on to a more advanced level. By the end of the course learners should be able to put sentences together independently as well as read and understand basic Arabic. It should bring learners to pre-Arabic GCSE level.

Course Cost and Payment
The course will cost £1.32 per hour. The full cost of the course is £180. This includes learning materials. The package to study in Egypt or Yemen is separate to this (information for this will be provided later).  The fees are due at registration and is non-refundable. All cheques should be payable to ‘The Muath Trust’.

Course Timetable and Holiday
This course will be taught over 34 weeks with a total of 136 hours of teaching and learning. The classes will be held twice a week, each session lasting for 2 hours. The classes will run on a Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am – 12 pm for the morning session and 6 pm – 8pm for the evening session.  The holidays will be as follows:-

26th and 27th of October 2010
21st and 22nd of December 2010
28th and 29th of December 2010
15th and 16th of February 2011
5th and  6th of April 2011
12th and  13th of April 2011

The course will start on the 20th September 2010 and finish on the 29th June 2011

Course Materials
The primary text for this course will be the “Arabic Course for English-Speaking Students” Book 1 (Author:- Dr. V. Abdur Rahim)

Benefit of this Course
Learners who successfully complete the course and pass the exam will have the opportunity to study for one month in an Arabic language institute in Egypt or Yemen.

FIRST TWO MONTHS
  • The use of هذا In a sentence
  • Asking a question.  Usingما  and أ
  • The use of من
  • Names of animals and using them in a sentence.
  • Using ذلك in a sentence (الدرس الثاني)
  • The construction of a nominal sentence الجملة الإسمية The مبتدأ and the خبر
  • The Moon Letters and the Sun letters.

THE SECOND THREE MONTHS
8. Learning how to describe a house:-
a.The different rooms in a house
b.How to use أين in a sentence.
c.The meaning of هو and هي meaning ‘it’
d.Feminine and masculine signs
e.The names of different countries.
f.حروف جر the use من and إلى على في in a sentence
g.The أفعال ماضية and مضارع and أمر

  • The  مضاف  and the مضاف إليه
  • The use of هذه
  • The parts of the body. The rule regarding the parts which are feminine and masculine
  • The use of ذلك
  • موصوف And صفة
  • The use of الذي
  • Use of the pronouns ضمائر
